Why drüber reden exists
More than ten years ago I sat with a very good friend, a psychologist, on her roof terrace, and we talked about how often we meet people who are completely overwhelmed by the task of telling apart all the offers around mental health in Austria. We joked about the idea of a „therapy jungle“ guide, a page that answers all these questions. A place of orientation. The idea kept coming back, but we thought: surely someone is already building this. Ten years later it still did not exist, and I thought: it is time!
Anyone looking for mental-health support in Austria quickly lands in a jungle of professional titles, responsibilities and cost models. Psychotherapy, psychiatry, clinical psychology, counselling, coaching: what is the difference, and what does insurance cover?
I hear these questions again and again, professionally and privately. The answers are often complicated, the information scattered and wrapped in jargon. drüber reden wants to change that: understandable, honest, low-threshold.
What this site deliberately does not do: rate, rank, recommend. No profession here is better or worse than another; they have different tasks. The decision about what fits you and your situation stays with you. This site is here to help you understand.
Who is behind it
I am Isabella Raunigk, self-employed since 2012 as a digital product designer and since 2024 also working as a psychosocial counsellor. I am the founder of drüber-reden and Mind Distillery & YOU-X. From my own experience and from my work with people I know how hard the first step can be, and how much easier it gets when you know where to go.
With this platform I want to close that gap: understandable orientation for everyone who needs it. Without a raised finger and without jargon nobody understands.
Who additionally supports this project
PRO LSB works to strengthen and raise the visibility of psychosocial counselling (Lebens- und Sozialberatung) in Austria. As the third pillar of psychosocial care, LSB is an important and often underestimated first stop. PRO LSB supports drüber reden with professional quality assurance.
How this site is funded
drüber-reden is funded through paid listings by providers. These are always marked as such. There are no ratings, no recommendations and no commissions: whoever pays becomes visible, not ranked higher. The label „verified listing“ means exactly one thing: I have checked that a valid trade licence or professional registration exists. Nothing more. It is not a statement about quality and not a recommendation.
How the content is created
The profession pages are based on the legal rules, above all the Trade Act and the respective professional laws, as well as official texts by the professional associations and the Chamber of Commerce. Every profession page carries a date stamp and an expandable list of sources. The pages are being reviewed step by step by professionals from the respective fields. AI-supported tools are used in the editorial revision of the texts. Editorial responsibility rests with me. Mistakes can still happen: if you spot one, write to me. I am grateful for every hint, including the uncomfortable ones.
