Supervision

What is Supervision?

What is Supervision for?
Guided reflection on one's professional practice
Is Supervision legally regulated?
A distinct counselling format with recognised trainings, represented by the Austrian Association for Supervision and Coaching (ÖVS).
Does Supervision treat illnesses?
No, professional reflection, not treatment

Supervision is reflection on one’s own work. Individuals or teams look, with guidance, at burdensome situations, roles, collaboration and difficult cases, above all in helping and social professions.

It is a distinct counselling format with recognised trainings and a professional association, the ÖVS. It is often paid for by the employer or organisation.

Supervision is not therapy. It strengthens professional capacity and prevents overload, but it does not treat illness.
